Raychel took a deep breath, smoothing off her white nurses dress. It was comfortable, but she hated the fact it was white. With the patients she dealt with every day, it needed to be washed constantly. Blood was not an attractive thing to wear on one's person, especially if you worked in a hospital. It only added to the horror of the place. And the fact the patients shrieking drove one mad as the shrieks of mandrakes didn't help much either. She leaned against the counter, wiping her forehead free of a strand of her hair when the door to the Special Cases waiting room burst open. With one whiff, Raychel knew she had a Turning patient on her hands.
Raychel quickly rushed to the side of a distraught looking couple, who had a young girl in their arms. She was covered in her own blood, and was badly broken in several places. Her dead heart jumped at seeing the girl and calmly listening to the parent's explanation of what had happened. The girl's name was Jessica Reynolds, and she had been with a friend in a park while her parent's shopped nearby. The poor girls had been jumped by a pair of rogue vampires and dragged off into the nearby wooded area. The other girl had been killed from being Bitten, but Jessica was older, and no doubt stronger. Her parent's had found her as the vampire's fled, and had come straight there.
Raychel wordlessly took the girl from the parent's hands and whisked her off to a private room. Jessica, who was about fifteen, was frail and pale as she lost more and more blood. Raychel eventually got her to a hospital bed, and hurriedly moved to staunch the wound. She knew t, from experience, that blood loss was the first thing to be taken care of, not the venom. There was enough in the bloodstream to Turn her, as long as she had enough blood running through her veins to carry it through her body. If she lost too much, Jessica Reynolds would be a goner. With a few simple, yet potent healing spells, he managed to bandage the girls neck and the began working on sedating the girl. She stuck a needle gently in her arm, injecting her with a strong, wizard-made sedative. Jessica thrashed momentarily, then was still.
Raychel came out, covered in the girl's blood, and explained the situation to the worried parents. "Jessica is going to live, but you are not allowed to see her." The father began to protest, but was silenced by Raychel's authoritative voice. "I am truly sorry, but the moment she awakes, she will attack you. She may be young, but she is strong." The father was silenced, and Raychel looked back on the day she had been Turned, and how she had attempted to murder Zelphar. "I will be taking care of her, and she will be alright in a few more days. Once she has had her fill, I'll call you back. You've filled out the paper work, correct?" The mother nodded, her complexion far too pale. Raychel laid a comforting hand on the couple's arms. "Your daughter is going to live. I promise you that."
The coupe thanked her and left hastily. Raychel shuffled through the paper work, quickly making a file for Jessica. She opened up the filing cabinet in her office, which extended out three feet since it was Charmed, and placed the file inside. Raychel then went into the bathroom and peeled off her bloodstained clothing. The smell was too much, and it was making her dizzy. Raychel quickly rinsed the blood off of her arms and legs, then put on a pair of black slacks and a dark purple, long-sleeved sweater. She rubbed her arm that held the Dark Mark as she exited her office and went into the room where Jessica now lay. A nurse had already come and cleaned Jessica up, dressing her in a patient's dress. Raychel took a seat near her bedside, but was not alone for long.

Wolfgang strode down to the room, in his uniform, looking exhausted. As he was an intern, he had a feeling that those over him in the corporate ladder were taking advantage of the fact that he was unpaid to get as much free labour out of him as possible. He pushed open the door, he had been briefed that the patient was stable, but he had been sent for, whatever reason that may be. "You wished to see me?" said Wolfgang to the woman in the chair, recognizing her as being one of the staff members.

Raychel looked up from her intense gaze that she held on the limp form of Jessica, into Wolfgang's eyes. She resented him a bit for what he had done to poor Angel, but she was his boss nonetheless. He was a diligent worker, and seemed kind enough. Raychel was puzzled a bit until she realized the other nurse, Gwendolyn, must have been here recently. She was quite the flirt for being a twenty-something nurse, and Raychel believed she fancied Wolfgang much. Raychel smiled gently, bidding Wolfgang to join her. "I do need you Mr. Hermasaki. She'll be out for a few more hours, but I will have trouble with her if the sedative wears off." she replied gently.

[blockqutoe]Wolfgang frowned a bit, wondering who possibly could have sent for him, unless it was Gwendolyn. Whenever they crossed paths she tried to flirt with him, but he wasn't remotely interested in her, no matter how much she fancied him. "Shall I fetch the restraints?" asked Wolfgang. They had special ones strong enough to hold in vampires, and they were crucial, if a newborn got away they could quite easily kill everyone in the hospital within a matter of a couple of minutes. Raychel merely smiled inwardly and shook her head. There were only a few who knew that she herself was a newborn vampire and had the power to restrain an of the vampires herself. Wolfgang had no idea of her true nature, but she had a feeling that Jessica wouldn't break the sedative in the slightest. She was young, and had lost a good amount of blood. The only reason the intern remained was that she was truly lonely. Most of the other nurses envied the skill in which she had, confused as to why she was so inept at handling the severest of cases without batting an eyelash. The key was that she was a vampire, but no one in the hospital needed to know that, except her boss.

"I still think it would be a good idea to have them on hand, just in case," said Wolfgang. This, of course, was all that he was allowed to say on the matter, he was nowhere near being in charge of anything, but he could make whatever advisements that he felt would be a good idea, but it was the choice of his superiors if they decided to follow it. Wolfgang often loathed being only an intern, but with just a little time, he could rise through the ranks to a position that he had envisioned himself in.

Raychel looked up, studying the intern. Though he was older than her in numeric age, she had no doubt experienced more tragedy in her lifetime. She smiled gently and nodded her head. "Whatever you feel would be appropriate." she replied softly, then turned back to study Jessica. She couldn't help but pity the poor thing, her life was just ending when it had begun such a short while ago. The moment the girl had been brought in, she knew Isabelle would never get her. Jessica was already going to have so much to cope with, being the subject of the Dark Mistress wasn't something she needed. AS soon as she was well enough, she would be sent home.

"I'll be back momentarily," said Wolfgang, and then slipped out of the room. He walked briskly to the room where they kept all the medical supplies and then spent a moment trying to uncover the appropriate restraints. It wasn't everyday that they had a case involving someone that had recently gotten bitten, so they were seldom used. But the magic on them made the restraints stronger than the strongest material known to man. Wolfgang eventually found them, and then made his way back to the room.

Raychel never took her gaze off of Jessica, not even when Wolfgang entered the room. She was curious as to what the girl would act like upon entering her threshold of pain. Every vampire was different. Raychel's had been high, but she, of course, had know idea how she had looked, much less acted, during her Turning. Nor did she ever want to. The silence began to knaw uncomfortably at her and she had to speak. "Do you know why I am a nurse here Mister Hermasaki?" she asked absently, daring to take her careful eyes off of Jessica to stare into Wolfgang's.

Wolfgang resisted the temptation to squirmed under Raychel's intense gaze, it made him uncomfortable. "No idea," said Wolfgang. "Personal choice? Prowess at healing magic?" He ran a hand through his hair and stifled a yawn, he was tired, it had been a long day and he wasn't off until his actual boss dismissed him. Raychel was still his superior, but the intern supervisor was the one in charge of telling them when to haul their asses in and when to go back home.

Raychel resisted the temptation to smirk. She could tell her intense gaze was bothering Wolfgang. She replaced her gaze with that of a soft, warm gaze, seemingly melting her brown eyes. She took in the silence, drawing out the pause in suspense. Finally she spoke. "Yes. Both of those I suppose. But also.... experience. That is the only way I can explain it to you." she replied, meeting his gaze once more. She allowed a small smile to engulf her features before turning back to Jessica.

Wolfgang leaned against the wall in the back, keeping a comfortable distance between them. Vampires did not frighten Wolfgang, two of his former friends had been the creatures of the night, but now it seemed that everyone hated him. He knew what he had done was wrong, but was that an excuse to find himself alone and entirely friendless? Wolfgang hated to admit it to himself, but he had been scared to death when Angel told him shewas pregnant, he hadn't known what else to do... He waited politely for Raychel to elaborate.

Raychel concealed a grin. She crossed one leg over the other without an elaboration on her part. It didn't take a genius to figure it out. She finally turned back towards Wolfgang, sizing him up. She wasn't sure what to make of him. On the one hand, she disliked him for abandoning Angel in her time of need. On the other, he was a valuable person to have around, and he seemed genuinely sorry for what had happened. Raychel took in a deep breath, hearing his heart thud. No doubt he was thinking about her vampirism, or something else out of her grasp.

It did not take long for him to string the pieces of the puzzle together, but not even the slightest trace of alarm or surprise went through him. In fact, it was rather predictable, nobody who was merely seventeen got to a position like that. He was eighteen and forced to become an intern before they would allow him to become a healer, which was frustrating, but Wolfgang supposed the experience would pay off.

Raychel's eyes flicked from Jessica to Wolfgang. She studied him carefully, scrutinizing every detail. Finally, she turned back towards the girl. "I do not hold you accountable for Angel Wolfgang. I hold no grudges, and I will not let that get in the way of work." she replied softly. It was true, she was angry at her colleague for abandoning her best friend. But, at the same time, she understood Wolfgang's intentions. He had been scared, just as Angel had been. Recklessness only went so far. Raychel knew that from experience.
